Micah couldn’t wait to hear the news in detail. He simply turned off the radio. In bitterness he voiced: “The media again and its usual way of conveying bad news to us! Every now and then, our eardrums are bombarded with loads of news stories that dictate all kinds of negative feels. Subconsciously, we’re tune to the frequency of negative thinking. Why is the media being harsh on us? Do they want to put us in the maximum prison of fear? The media has unfortunately made me an addict. I can’t afford not to hear the news on a daily basis. But they are not encouragingat all. Listen to this: ‘Seven People Die in Major South Africa’s Mine Fields’. Are they not indirectly telling the young ones that it’s dangerous to be a miner? Only God knows how many under-aged children would be listening to this news! Parents want their children to follow the news always but they fail to recognize that they’ve exposed their children to fear at tender ages. Now, what do you expect of them when they become adults? Listening to Radio South Africa is nothing but crap! I need to turn down this radio for life! What do you think, Floyd?”

“I’ve always told you time and time again that you should learn to See Life in your Way! You seem to have allowed the media dictate your lifestyle! As for me, the news stories don’t bother me anymore. I focus on what I have and what works for me! Now, I’m busy doing what I like doing best-Playing games” Floyd responded.

“I know you’re not serious with the reality of things around us. Look at us. We are graduates of the University of Fort Hare, Durban and for three years, we’re yet to secure jobs. As old as we are, we’re at the mercy of the government through its Welfare Scheme for the unemployed. For how long are we going to remain in this situation? When is the best time to display your productivity if not now? Is it when we can barely work around? I’m seriously thinking!”

“What do you want to do? Do you think you can do anything? Can you help the situations around you?” Floyd angrily asked, switching off his Playstation Game. I don’t want to do anything funny because I’m right beside you! “But Never you remind me of the old wounds. I’ve decidedto see life in my own way by dumping any past event that doesn’t inspire me. But you’re tending to be a part of my past and if you can’t put out these incessant complaints of yours, then, you’ll leave me with no choice than to DUMP YOU, period!”

“Okay, Floyd, I’m sorry if I’ve offended you!” Micah apologized
‘”You’d better be!”  Floyd wanted.

“Floyd, when I hear news stories on TV and over the radio, one thing comes to my mind- Mr. Ben’s explanation of the term ‘stories’. He explained stories as ‘the accounts of situations and events, involving the entirety of mankind, plants and animals, living and non-existing entities, in real and fabricated or make-believe forms, which are meant to be communicated in the form of writing, oral statements, verbal expressions, signs and symbols and other known and unknown methodologies, to targeted and general audiences with the intention to entertain, create debates and discussions, mesmerize, cause tears of joy and excruciation and enlightenment.’ I know what he actually meant.”

“That’s good to know!”

“Yeah! Floyd, to be candid, I have desired to be a famous. I want to be in the league of celebrities like Jay-Q, Rayne West, Brown James, Raheem Hass and our very own, Dube Locke. I never knew the other side of being famous until I listened from a friend’s MP3 device the message by Dr. Benjamin Young, a self-help counselor in his brief message he titled: Fame or Faithfulness; Which One Should bePrioritized? I listened to it, downloaded it and took it home to listen. I have it with me now. Would you mind listening to it as well?”
Floyd answered: “Yes, I do! This is what I need for my very motivation. Rather than complain all the time like you do! Why didn’t you let me listen to this before now?”

“To be frank, I never took time to listen to it again! I only listened to it once and like I told you, it was at a friend’s place. Sorry if you feel offended, Floyd!”

“I’m not mad at you at all! It’s just that I have found out the very reason you complain all the time! You don’t listen to soul-lifting messages at all. I tell you, for you to live have your head above the waters of deceptions in the form of complaints and regrets; you must always learn to listen to messages like the one you have on your MP3. If you’re ready, Micah, I’m ready! Let’s find somewhere in this self-contained apartment of ours to stay while we listen to the message”

“Okay!” Micah agreed, as they both got the sofa of the living room. The Mp4 device was placed at the center table; enabling Micah and Floyd hear the message audibly. As they turned on the device and found where the message, the play button touched voiced the message:
 Fame or Faithfulness: Which One Should Be Prioritized?

This topic discusses the advantages and disadvantages associated in
prioritizing fame over faithfulness or faithfulness over fame. It
asserts that there are two unequal parallels in that abalance cannot be struck. Hence, the onus is on the individual to state the one that
should be given priority at the expense of the other.
Fame and faithfulness are virtues mankind appreciates. As a matter of
fact, most peoples of the world would desire they have both virtues and
more importantly, strike an even balance between them. However, this
feat is practically impossible as the terms ‘fame’ and ‘faithfulness’
is described as ‘two unequal parallels’. The big question is ‘should
faithfulness be prioritized over fame or should fame be prioritized over
faithfulness?’
Of course, fame exposes people to the world. Many celebrities become
influential world figures, courtesy of fame. No doubt, fame brings to
the spotlight an array of ‘diligent’ individuals  who wish to be famous
and favors such as financial favors, contract-based offers form
leading firms from every nook and canny of the world, admiration by
people, all kinds of glamour, built reputation, audience, followership
and other recognized attachments are drawn to them. On the other hand,faithfulness apparently keeps people away from the corridors of
worldwide recognition. Moreover, it is a virtue that seem to keep people
in the dark and make them become spectators ton those who make the
news.
Nonetheless, being in the spotlight blindfolds people from certain
facts. Many individuals who became famous would initially have the
rationale of having more time to themselves, exercise freedom and
privacy only to realize the reverse becomes the case. No wonder a cynic
once remarked; ‘a celebrity is a displayed or showcased public property
whose longevity of service is dependent on the level of concurrence and
appreciation who are interested. Many celebrities have no privacy at
all; most times, they are always moving from place to place without
necessarily creating time to cool off. Many of them fall victims of drug
addiction, alcoholism, drug peddling and trafficking and other forms of
moral decadence, no thanks to the absence of faithfulness. In fact,
many celebrity marriages hit the rocks because of the veryfaithfulness.
On the other hand, people, who fell under the watchful
eyes of faithfulness, have a completely different story to tell. This
security precludes them form the servitude of drug and alcohol
addiction, drug trafficking and sustains their marriages. More
importantly, faithful people are interestingly the bedrock of the
famous; they contrite immensely, though behind the scene of the news
making or at the background, towards the steady rise to fame of those
who are poised to accomplish this feat. John Wesley, founder of the
great Methodist Church Movement, was very famous during his day courtesy
of the steady moral upbringing and unwavering support of his mother.

When they were done hearing the message, Micah seemed discouraged. Floyd observed Micah’s countenance: “It is apparent that you were touched by this message! Your facial expression tells it all! Brother, I learnt a lot from this! You seem not happy at all! Is everything okay with you?”
Micah reluctantly answered: “It’s a good message. Though it was very brief one but it was straight to the point!” But he abruptly picked up this confidence when he said: “I’ll do what I like doing, get popular and be rich without having to do what those celebrities did to get where they are!”
“That’s the spirit, Micah” Floyd encouraged him by holding his hands. “You’ll make it for real I strongly believe in you!”
“This is the greatest encouragement I’ve ever received in my entire twenty six years on Planet Earth!” Micah confessed.
Shocked, Floyd hugged him and said: “From this day onwards, anything you do, I’ll support you all the way!”
Thirty minutes later, they all retired to bed. At about7:00AM, Floyd went out to hang out with his out-of-favor and almost-retired rapper friend, P.R.O, a shortened form of Prosperity Reserves Opulence while the jobless and no-where-to-go Micah stayed in the house thinking of what to do while expecting his monthly Welfare Scheme-allocation. Lost in deep thought, a sense of inspiration found his sense of reasoning when he was able to pen the words on paper with the Rap song title See Life in Your Own Way.

Micah showed Floyd his lyrical write-up and convinced him to give it to P.R.O. Floyd talked to him and the rapper gave in. It was at this point that his dying rap career came alive. When he released the single, “See Life in Your Own Way”, it became a hit, topping the South African Hip-Hop chat for a month, went viral on all the radio stations, took him to various shows in Durban, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Lagos, Harare, Accra, Yaoundé, Nairobi, Rabat, Bangui and finally, won him the African best lyricist of the year, 2012. TheThe P.R.O had Micah as his lyricist and Floyd as he manager.
